Freelancer Project Description: Scrum Master (6-Month Contract) – London

About the Role: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Scrum Master to join our team on a 6-month freelance contract. This role is based in London and offers a hybrid working arrangement, with the flexibility to work both remotely and from our office.

As the Scrum Master, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the adoption of Agile methodologies within our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality software products while maintaining a strong focus on collaboration, continuous improvement, and driving Agile best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
• Act as a servant-leader for the Scrum team, removing any impediments that may hinder progress.
• Support the team in defining clear, achievable goals and ensure effective prioritization and sprint planning.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals, timelines, and expectations.
• Promote Agile methodologies and best practices within the organization.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives and helping teams reflect on their processes.
• Track and report on sprint progress, team velocity, and other key performance metrics.
• Assist with managing and evolving the product backlog in collaboration with the Product Owner.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the tech/software industry.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and hands-on experience leading Agile teams.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coach and mentor teams in Agile principles and practices.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile project management tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Experience working in a hybrid or remote environment is a plus.

Nice-to-Have:

• Previous experience working with distributed teams.
• Knowledge of other Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) would be a plus.
• Ability to adapt and work with cross-functional teams in a fast-changing environment.
