About the Role: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Scrum Master to join our team on a 6-month freelance contract. This role is based in London and offers a hybrid working arrangement, with the flexibility to work both remotely and from our office.
As the Scrum Master, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the adoption of Agile methodologies within our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality software products while maintaining a strong focus on collaboration, continuous improvement, and driving Agile best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
Act as a servant-leader for the Scrum team, removing any impediments that may hinder progress.
Support the team in defining clear, achievable goals and ensure effective prioritization and sprint planning.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals, timelines, and expectations.
Promote Agile methodologies and best practices within the organization.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives and helping teams reflect on their processes.
Track and report on sprint progress, team velocity, and other key performance metrics.
Assist with managing and evolving the product backlog in collaboration with the Product Owner.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the tech/software industry.
Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and hands-on experience leading Agile teams.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to coach and mentor teams in Agile principles and practices.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile project management tools.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Experience working in a hybrid or remote environment is a plus.
Nice-to-Have:
Previous experience working with distributed teams.
Knowledge of other Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) would be a plus.
Ability to adapt and work with cross-functional teams in a fast-changing environment.
